Iran's military spokesperson addressed the US in English, directly threatening Donald Trump over alleged American military agg ression

Tehran: In a sharp escalation of rhetoric following recent military tensions, Iran’s armed forces issued a stark warning to the United States and president Donald Trump.
Second Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, spoke in English to deliver the message: “Mr. Trump, the gambler! You may start this war — but we will be the ones to finish it!”
Citing Quran, Zolfaghari condemned the United States for allegedly violating Iranian sovereignty and supporting what he called the “dying Zionist regime”. He accused the US of “directly entering into war” and claimed the aggression was aimed at propping up Israel, describing it as a “futile” move.
“This hostile act… will expand the legitimate and diverse objectives of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paving the way for the escalation of war in the region,” Zolfaghari warned.
Promising “strong and purposeful operations,” he said Iran’s response would have “heavy, regretful, and unpredictable consequences.”
Zolfaghari’s statement marks a notable shift in tone and language—switching to English for international impact—and reflects heightened tensions following reported Israeli strikes and US involvement in regional conflict zones.
Iran has increasingly used such military communiqués to project strength amid rising geopolitical pressure. The statement suggests that Tehran is preparing for an extended confrontation if provoked further.
