Jerusalem: The Israeli military announced on Sunday the elimination of Nabil Qaouk, a high-ranking official within Hezbollah, in a recent airstrike.

In a post on X, the military stated, "The Commander of Hezbollah's Preventative Security Unit and a member of their Executive Council, Nabil Qaouk, was eliminated in a precise IDF strike."

Qaouk was named in the official statement as being directly involved in terrorist activities against Israel and its citizens. The post further added, "Qaouk was close to Hezbollah's senior commanders and was actively engaged in terrorist attacks against the State of Israel. He joined Hezbollah in the 1980s and was regarded as an important source of expertise in his field, having served as the Deputy Commander of the Southern Region on the Operational Council, as well as Commander of the Southern Region and Deputy Commander of the Operational Council."

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) shared their commitment to targeting Hezbollah's leadership, declaring, "The IDF will continue to strike and eliminate commanders within the Hezbollah terrorist organization and will act against anyone who threatens the citizens of the State of Israel."

In recent weeks, several senior Hezbollah commanders have been killed in Israeli strikes, including the group's overall leader, Hassan Nasrallah, who was reportedly targeted in Beirut on Friday.
