In a widely shared video on the microblogging site X, it is evident that just before the shooting, Donald Trump tilted his head to look at the screen. Upon careful inspection of the slowed-down footage, it became clear that this simple movement saved the former US President's life, as the bullet narrowly grazed his ear instead of hitting him.

If Trump hadn't moved his head, the bullet would likely have struck him in the head, potentially ending his life. Talking about the head tilt, Trump stated that he turned his head to look at the illegal immigration statistics displayed on the big screen at his rally.

"That chart that I was going over saved my life... the border patrol saved my life," Trump reportedly said to former White House doctor Ronny Jackson.

"If I hadn't pointed at that chart and turned my head to look at it, that bullet would have hit me right in the head."

In his initial statement, Trump mentioned being shot during his election rally in Butler, where a bullet pierced the upper part of his right ear.

The incident occurred during former President Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on the evening of July 13, around 6:15 p.m. The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.

US Secret Service personnel neutralized him and swiftly implemented protective measures to ensure Trump's safety. Trump was promptly escorted out of the venue by the US Secret Service team but one spectator was killed, and two were critically injured.

The incident is currently under investigation as the real motive behind his assassination attempt is still unclear.
