Azerbaijan: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has firmly ruled out the possibility of negotiations with the United States as long as Israel continues its military strikes against Iran, according to a report by Trend.

“Amid ongoing Israeli aggression, the United States has expressed a desire for negotiations and has repeatedly sent messages in this regard. However, we have made it clear that dialogue is impossible without an end to these attacks and hostilities,” Araghchi said during a broadcast on Iranian state television and radio.

Top Iranian military leaders killed in Israeli strike

Tensions escalated sharply after Israel carried out a deadly airstrike on Iranian territory in the early hours of 13 June.

The strike claimed the lives of several senior military figures, including Iran’s Chief of the General Staff Mohammad Bagheri, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Commander Gholamali Rashid, and IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh.

Additionally, nine nuclear scientists and a number of other high-ranking officials were reported killed in the attack.

Iran retaliates with massive missile and drone assault

Later that evening, Iran launched a large-scale retaliatory strike, firing over 150 ballistic missiles and more than 100 drones at Tel Aviv and other targets in Israel.

The counterattack resulted in civilian casualties and widespread damage, further deepening the crisis between the two countries.
