Surrey: The home of newly elected Cricket Canada president Arvinder Khosa in Surrey, British Columbia, was targeted in an early morning shooting on Wednesday, according to media reports.

Khosa confirmed by phone that his property in the Newton neighbourhood had been struck, though he did not provide further details.

Police reported that the residence, which was occupied at the time, was hit by gunfire shortly after 4:40 a.m. PT. Officers responding to the scene found evidence of at least five bullet impacts on the front door, windows and exterior walls. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Surrey Police Service said the investigation is still in its early stages, but the incident is believed to be linked to extortion.
