Gaganpreet Randhawa, who operated the largest and most sophisticated fentanyl and methamphetamine drug superlab in Canada, is in custody of Canadian police. He was arrested and charged with numerous drug, and firearms-related offences.
Canadian police slammed multiple charges on Randhawa related to drugs and firearms after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) uncovered a high-capacity lab capable of producing fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other illicit drugs at an industrial scale.
Massive drug production operation

The RCMP believes that organized crime groups were behind the mass-production and international distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine, orchestrated through the drug lab in Falkland, British Columbia, and supported by locations in Surrey, Metro Vancouver.
The investigation culminated last week when officers served search warrants on these sites, leading to a significant drug and weapon seizure.
Federal investigators have described the lab as unprecedented in size and complexity. During the raids, officers seized 54 kg of fentanyl, 390 kg of methamphetamine, 35 kg of cocaine, 15 kg of MDMA and 6 kg of cannabis.
Additionally, 89 firearms were confiscated, including 45 handguns, 21 AR-15-style rifles, and several submachine guns, many of which were loaded. Nine of the firearms were identified as stolen. Investigators also uncovered small explosive devices, ammunition, firearm silencers, high-capacity magazines, body armor, and $500,000 in cash.

Assistant Commissioner David Teboul, Commander of the RCMP Federal Policing program for the Pacific Region, reported the seizure of over 5,000 liters and 10 tons of unregulated and scheduled precursor chemicals used to produce fentanyl and MDMA.
Teboul expressed concern over the discovery of Phenyl-2-Propanone (P2P), a chemical precursor for methamphetamine production, stating, “Manufacturing methamphetamine using P2P had not been seen in Western Canada until now. This method is primarily used by Mexican cartels to produce methamphetamine.”
According to the RCMP, the seized fentanyl had the potential to yield 95,500,000 lethal doses, enough to take “the life of every Canadian citizen twice over,” said RCMP Inspector Jillian Wellard, comparing the operation to the fictional drug empire depicted in Breaking Bad.

International Drug Exports Thwarted
The investigation also revealed several large shipments of methamphetamine prepared for international export. In collaboration with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), RCMP investigators seized an additional 310 kilograms of methamphetamine before it could leave the country.
Inspector Jillian Wellard, Officer in Charge of Federal Policing Pacific Region, Drugs and Organized Crime, emphasized the success of the operation, stating, "Our RCMP Federal Policing investigators have successfully neutralized what is believed to be the largest illicit fentanyl and methamphetamine facility ever discovered by law enforcement in Canada. This is undoubtedly a major blow to the transnational organized crime groups involved."'

Authorities, meanwhile, reported that environmental safety mitigation and cleanup for the superlab site have already exceeded half a million dollars, with costs expected to rise.
