Amid the chaos and uncertainty in Bangladesh, it has been reported that Bangladesh Jamaat has proposed changes to the national flag and anthem. The flag was designed by Narain Das, and the anthem was written by Rabindranath Tagore—both of whom were Hindus.

Brig. Gen. Azmi, son of the founder of Bangladesh’s Jamaat-e-Islami, was recently released after being a victim of enforced disappearance during former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s administration.

Bangladesh, which is predominantly Muslim with a population currently around 93 percent, has seen a decline in its minority communities. Hindus now make up about 5 percent of the population, while Buddhists and Christians constitute the remaining minority groups.

Meanwhile, recent reports indicate that the Pakistani government is displaying a renewed interest in Bangladesh. The nation is reportedly considering offering visa-free travel to Bangladeshis and has proposed establishing direct flights between the two countries.

In light of these developments, it appears that the interim government in Bangladesh may implement further changes aligned with the agendas of religious hardliners. As these events continue to unfold, more significant changes are anticipated in the coming days.
