Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have once again sparked rumours about their alleged romance after being seen sharing affectionate moments on Perry’s yacht. The photos, shared by the Daily Mail on Saturday, show the duo off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, appearing very close and relaxed.

In one image, Perry wore a sleek black one-piece swimsuit while leaning in to kiss Trudeau, who dressed casually in just a pair of jeans.

Another photo shows Trudeau holding Perry from behind on the yacht’s upper deck as she wrapped her arms around his neck, with the former PM appearing to nuzzle her cheek.

A tourist who saw the pair gave details to the Daily Mail: “She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn't realise who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy's arm and I immediately realized it was Justin Trudeau.”

The pair first came under the media spotlight in July when they were seen dining together in Montreal. That same month, Trudeau was also spotted supporting Perry at her sold-out Lifetimes Tour concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre, further fuelling speculation about their relationship.

What about their past relationships?

Earlier in July, Perry and Orlando Bloom confirmed their split. The couple met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019, welcoming their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020.

Trudeau, meanwhile, was married to former TV host Sophie Gregoire. The couple announced their separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They continue to co-parent their three children: Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien.

So far, neither Perry nor Trudeau has made any public statement about their alleged relationship.
