Norka Care insurance deadline extended as 87,000 NRK families enrol, says Norka.

Good news for Non-Resident Keralites, the registration for the Norka Care Health and Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme has been extended till October 31 (Friday). The registration deadline, earlier set for October 30, has been extended once again, giving NRKs one last opportunity to complete their enrolment and benefit from the scheme’s comprehensive health and accident insurance coverage.
On Thursday evening, Norka announced that the scheme has already been taken up by more than 87,000 expatriate families. Expressing gratitude to the NRK community for their overwhelming response, P. Sreeramakrishnan, Vice Chairperson of Norka Roots, thanked all those who joined the scheme. Norka also added that around two lakh new Pravasi ID cards have been issued during this period. The enrolment for the scheme will close tomorrow.
Who can apply
To register for the Norka Care scheme, applicants must possess a valid NORKA identity card. Accepted cards include the Pravasi ID Card for those working or living abroad, the Student ID Card for Keralite students overseas, and the NRK ID Card for Keralites residing in other Indian states. What the scheme offers
The Norka Care scheme offers Rs 5 lakh health insurance with illness-specific sub-limits and a Rs 10 lakh group personal accident insurance. The accident coverage includes 100 percent of the sum insured in case of death, along with repatriation costs of Rs 25,000 within India and Rs 50,000 outside India. It also provides 100 percent coverage for permanent or total disability and partial disability benefits as per the policy schedule.
Affordable premium plans
The policy offers affordable annual premiums inclusive of GST. The family floater plan, which covers a spouse and two children under 25 years, costs Rs 13,411. The individual plan for those aged 18 to 70 years is priced at Rs 8,101, while coverage for an additional child under 25 years costs Rs 4,130. The policy is valid for one year and can be renewed annually.
The Norka Care scheme is gaining popularity among NRKs because it covers pre-existing diseases, requires no 30-day waiting period, and allows claims within 60 days of treatment. It also offers cashless medical services at over 14,000 hospitals across India.
For thousands of Malayalis living abroad or in other Indian states, the scheme provides not only financial protection but also peace of mind — ensuring that medical care and support are accessible wherever they are.
