Dubai: Free Wi-Fi is now available on all intercity buses operating between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, and Fujairah, according to media reports.

The initiative is part of a collaboration between Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and telecom provider Etisalat. A total of 259 buses are now equipped with internet access, allowing passengers to stay connected throughout their journey via smartphones, tablets, or laptops.

Additionally, free Wi-Fi is now available at 17 major bus stations and 12 marine transport stations across Dubai. These include Al Ghubaiba, Union, Al Satwa, Gold Souk, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, International City, Deira City Centre, Al Qusais, Al Jafiliya, Al Sabkha, Al Qouz, Jebel Ali, Oud Metha, Al Baraha, Hatta, Business Bay, and Al Karama bus stations.

Marine stations with Wi-Fi access include Al Ghubaiba, Al Baniyas, Al Seef, Al Jaddaf, Al Wajiha, Business Bay, Dubai Festival City, Al Fahidi, Sheikh Zayed Road, Marasi, Godolphin, Bluewaters, Deira Old Souk, and Bur Dubai.

The move is part of RTA’s broader effort to enhance the commuter experience by integrating smart services into the public transport system. Alongside bus and marine stations, Wi-Fi connectivity is also available on Dubai Metro, in taxis, and on water transport services. Meanwhile, Ras Al Khaimah’s Transport Authority has also rolled out free Wi-Fi on all its public and intercity buses.
