Toyota has officially launched the much-awaited Fortuner 2025 in India with a 48V hybrid system, upgraded tech features, and a new price tag

Mumbai: Toyota has launched the new Fortuner and Fortuner Legender in India with a 48V mild-hybrid system, marking a major upgrade for the popular SUV.
The announcement puts to rest months of speculation surrounding the next step for Toyota's flagship model in India.
The new Fortuner Hybrid is priced at ₹53.89 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), while the Fortuner Legender Hybrid is priced at ₹60.36 lakh. Bookings have opened from June 2, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the third week of the month.
Both models now come equipped with Toyota’s 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, enhancing performance and fuel efficiency. The system is designed to improve throttle responsiveness and aid in quicker acceleration.
Toyota has added several new features to enhance the SUV’s appeal. These include a 360-degree camera, traction control, wireless charging, a smart idle start-stop system, and a new “Neo Drive Boost Assist” functionality. These updates are accompanied by Neo Drive badging but no exterior styling changes.
The existing feature list remains extensive, with comforts such as ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, cruise control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, an 11-speaker JBL sound system, and auto-dimming IRVMs.
In terms of safety, the Fortuner continues to offer seven airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, and both front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera.
The Fortuner remains a leader in the premium SUV segment, and this hybrid launch is aimed at strengthening its position amid growing competition and a shift towards more fuel-efficient technologies.
