SBI to revise IMPS charges from August 15; small online transfers free, higher-value transactions to incur nominal fees.

The State Bank of India (SBI) will revise its Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) transaction charges for retail customers from August 15, 2025, affecting different slabs for online and branch channels. The revision is expected to impact customers making higher-value online transfers, while small transactions remain untouched.
Free limit retained for small-value online transactions
IMPS transfers of up to Rs 25,000 made through SBI’s online platforms will continue to be free of charge. However, online transactions above Rs 25,000 will attract nominal fees from the revision date.
New online IMPS charges for higher-value transfers
From August 15, SBI will levy:
Rs 2 + GST for transactions above Rs 25,000 and up to Rs 1,00,000
Rs 6 + GST for transactions above Rs 1,00,000 and up to Rs 2,00,000
Rs 10 + GST for transactions above Rs 2,00,000 and up to Rs 5,00,000
Previously, these online transfers were free for all customers.
Branch transaction charges unchanged
