
Stressing the importance of data analytics, digitisation and AI, the Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed that deployment of data analytics is currently underway in all airports in the country to improve services. He was speaking after the formal launch of AI-powered Digital Twin for better passenger experience at the GMR Hyderabad International Airport.
The AI-enabled technology- APOC is a system that will integrate airside, landside, and terminal operations into a unified system, utilising real-time data to optimise decision-making, minimise disruptions, and ensure seamless operations.

The one-of-a-kind next-generation Airport Predictive Operation Centre (APOC) is a ‘transformative’ advancement in airport management and operations. Explaining the features of APOC SGK Kishore, ED – South & Chief Innovation Officer, GMR Airports said, “This will set new standards in modernising operations and elevating passenger satisfaction. By integrating real-time data and advanced analytics, we ensure smooth passenger flow, reduced wait times, and personalized services, shaping the future of air travel with unparalleled efficiency and safety.”
This system is also set to be introduced in Delhi airport soon. Rising air traffic in the country leading to airport congestion and passenger woes led to the development of newer and more advanced techniques to tackle passenger traffic. “With APOC, the airport management will be able to ensure efficiency and improve operations,” GMR claims.
“We have to focus on making air travel more accessible, affordable, and convenient. And this new facility aligns with the vision for improved ease of travel. The goal is to create a seamless and people-friendly air travel experience,” Naidu said.
Naidu further praised the system saying that will improve daily airport operations and is replicable at other airports.
“My focus will be on anything that aligns with making air travel more accessible, more affordable, more convenient and more people friendly and seamless and this APOC facility that we are starting today aligns with that vision”, he said.
