Bengaluru: Hard Rock International has formally terminated its franchise agreement with its primary Indian operator, JSM Corporation Private Limited, resulting in the immediate closure of 10 cafe locations across the country.

The Florida-based hospitality giant announced the move on Monday, March 16, 2026, effectively dismantling its current cafe footprint in India’s major metropolitan hubs. The closures include three locations in Bengaluru, comprising the international airport and Whitefield outposts, along with sites in New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Chandigarh, and two venues in Hyderabad.

Goa Hotel Unaffected

While the cafe and retail "Rock Shop" operations have been shuttered, the company confirmed that the Hard Rock Hotel in Goa will continue to operate as usual. The hotel is managed under a separate agreement not connected to JSM Corporation.

Hard Rock International has not cited a specific reason for the sudden termination, though the move strips JSM Corporation of the rights to operate the music-themed brand in India. Industry observers noted the decision follows a period of transition for the brand, which has recently seen various franchise shake-ups globally. JSM Corporation, which introduced the iconic brand to India more than a decade ago, has not issued an official response to the termination.
