Gold continues to serve as a trusted hedge against inflation, attracting growing interest from investors who view it as a stable and long-term asset. The metal’s value traditionally rises during uncertain economic conditions and festive seasons, especially in India, where gold buying is culturally significant.
Across major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune, gold rates remain nearly uniform, with minor variations of a few rupees per gram. For example, in Delhi, 24K gold is priced slightly higher at ₹12,096 per gram, while in Ahmedabad and Vadodara, it trades at ₹12,086 per gram.
Gold price in Kerala
In Kerala, a state known for its strong gold-buying culture, prices mirror the national average—₹12,081 per gram for 24K, ₹11,074 for 22K, and ₹9,061 for 18K gold. The demand in Kerala typically surges during festivals, weddings, and other auspicious occasions.
Silver
As of October 29, the price of silver in India stands at ₹150.90 per gram and ₹1,50,900 per kilogram, reflecting a slight decrease of ₹0.10 per gram from the previous day. Silver prices in India are closely linked to international market trends and the exchange rate of the Indian rupee against the US dollar. When the rupee weakens and global silver prices remain steady, domestic silver rates tend to rise.
Across major Indian cities, prices show only minor variations. In Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, silver is priced uniformly at ₹1,509 for 10 grams and ₹1,50,900 per kilogram. Bangalore quotes a slightly higher rate at ₹1,519 per 10 grams, while Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kerala report the highest rates of ₹1,649 per 10 grams and ₹1,64,900 per kilogram, reflecting regional market differences and local demand.
In Kerala, silver prices mirror the upper range of the national average, at ₹164.90 per gram and ₹1,64,900 per kilogram. The state’s strong cultural affinity for precious metals and consistent consumption across rural and urban areas contribute to steady demand.
The combination of global economic factors, currency fluctuations, and industrial demand continues to influence the metal’s valuation, making silver a balanced investment option for both short-term traders and long-term investors. (With inputs from Agencies)
