In India, fuel prices are adjusted by state-run oil companies such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum

New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices remained largely unchanged across metro cities and state capitals on Thursday, September 11. In Mumbai, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder also held steady at ₹852.50, unchanged since April.
Petrol continued to be priced at ₹103.50 per litre in Mumbai, maintaining the same rate for the past nine months. Minor fluctuations were observed in cities such as Gurgaon, Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Patna.
Diesel was priced at ₹90.03 per litre in Mumbai, with little to no variation seen across other major metro cities.
With diesel prices holding steady nationwide for over eight months, fuel costs remain influenced by global oil trends, domestic tax policies and currency exchange rates.

When international crude oil prices rise, petrol rates in the country also move up. Conversely, a dip in global crude prices usually leads to a reduction in the daily petrol prices here.
