This simplifies shared expenses and empowers those new to digital payments without requiring real-time approval for each transaction.

NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India, launched a new feature called UPI Circle Full Delegation on the BHIM Payments App on Tuesday. This feature enables users to authorise trusted individuals, including family members, children, staff, or dependents, to make UPI payments directly from their account within a predefined monthly limit.
Designed to ease shared financial responsibilities, the feature allows the primary account holder to set a monthly spending limit up to Rs 15,000 and specify a validity period of up to five years, without requiring real-time approval for each transaction. This advancement makes routine payments smoother for households and small businesses, especially when managing expenses for senior citizens, young adults, or digitally inexperienced users.
Importantly, authorised users can make payments without linking their own bank account, improving accessibility to digital transactions. Lalitha Nataraj, MD & CEO of NBSL, said Full Delegation takes UPI Circle to the next level by enabling trusted and autonomous payments within defined limits.
The feature caters particularly to senior citizens hesitant to use digital payments and parents who want to provide controlled spending access to their children. Small business owners can also delegate operational expenses, such as fuel and toll payments, to staff while maintaining oversight. Similarly, it supports digitally inexperienced users through trusted contacts, ensuring safer and easier everyday payments.
UPI Circle with Full Delegation is available on the latest BHIM Payments App (Version 4.0.10), which also incorporates features like Split Expenses, Family Mode, Spend Analytics, multilingual options, and an enhanced user experience.
