Bharti Airtel has revised its prepaid offerings in India, quietly withdrawing two popular data-only recharge packs. The update, which reflects on both the company’s website and mobile app, removes options that many users relied on for short-term high-speed data access and bundled OTT benefits.

What plans have been discontinued?

Airtel has discontinued the Rs. 121 and Rs. 181 prepaid data packs. Both plans earlier offered high-speed data for 30 days and included complimentary access to Airtel Xtreme Play Premium. The subscription service brings together content from more than 25 OTT platforms, such as Netflix, JioHotstar, SonyLIV and others.

According to TelecomTalk, these packs have now been removed from the recharge catalogue. Gadgets 360 also confirmed that the plans are no longer available, leaving customers with alternative data-only options.

What are the current data pack alternatives?

Following the removal of the two plans, the most affordable data-only option is the Rs. 100 recharge. It provides 6GB of data with a 30-day validity period and includes access to SonyLIV and twenty other OTT applications through the Airtel Xtreme Play subscription for the duration of the plan.

For users requiring more data, Airtel continues to offer the Rs. 161 data pack. It provides 12GB of data with the same 30-day validity.

Airtel also lists its Rs. 195 pack, described by the telecom service provider as the “Best Cricket Pack”. This recharge provides 12GB of data, a one-month subscription to JioHotstar Mobile and complimentary access to Airtel Xtreme Play.

The highest-value 30-day data plan is priced at Rs. 361. Customers receive 50GB of data for the validity period, and Airtel states that post-quota usage will be charged at 50 paise per MB consumed.

The revision to Airtel’s data packs comes shortly after the release of new subscription statistics. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Airtel’s wireless user base in the country has increased to 393.7 million.

The operator recorded a 33.59 percent market share, supported by the addition of 1.252 million new wireless subscribers.
