Ernakulam: A rubber tapping worker has been seriously injured in a wild elephant attack in Kothamangalam on Thursday morning. The victim, 75-year-old Avarachan, was attacked by a wild tusker while working in a private rubber plantation in Kottappady.
The tusker attacked Avarachan from behind at around 6.30 am. Hearing his screams, another worker named Kuriakose rushed to help and alerted local residents. Avarachan was taken to Kothamangalam Taluk Hospital before being shifted to Kolenchery Hospital.
