Kalpetta: A house is being built for Sruthi, who lost her family in a landslide and her fiancé in a vehicle accident. The house is being constructed in Ponnada, Wayanad. It will cover an area of 1,500 square feet on an 11.5-cent plot of land. Kalpetta MLA T Siddique laid the foundation stone, which Sruthi witnessed from an ambulance.

Denish Davis and Inok Joseph Antony from Thrissur and Chalakudy are providing financial assistance for the house. They have stated that they will bear the entire cost of construction, which is expected to be around Rs 35 lakh.

The house's construction was underway when the landslide occurred just as Sruthi was preparing for her wedding. She lost her parents and sister in the landslide, and all the money and jewelry saved for the wedding were also lost in the disaster. Tragically, her fiancé, Jenson, who was her emotional support during that time, died in a vehicle accident. 

Recovering from injuries, Sruthi was staying in a temporary rehabilitation center in Kalpetta when the help arrived.
