Kozhikode: The state teachers’ award has finally found its way to a teacher who has been showcasing a stellar performance in the field for 30 plus years now. C Harris (55), a biomedical teacher at the JDT Islam VHSE school, Vellimadukunnu has won this year’s award in the vocational higher secondary category.
Harris, a Chennamangallur native, began his teaching career in 1991 and has also served as a NSS coordinator between 1992-96. He has been active in conducting teachers training classes, counselling as well as career guidance classes. Apart from this, he was also the resource person for the C-MAT and VHSE department.
Harris was also instrumental in developing the teachers manual and the module selection for the same. This award is not a first for Harris.
He was awarded NCERT’s Best Teacher award in 2002. Nevertheless, Harris says that this award was surprising and would definitely be an inspiration in his journey forward.
