Thiruvananthapuram: Newly elected opposition leader V D Satheesan stated that he will engage in activities focusing on the Congress ideology rooted in Nehruvian Socialism for the revival of the party and that he would not give in to any community organisations. He put up a Facebook post making clear his stand after being elected to the new post.

'I accepted the post of opposition leader with the understanding that it is a tough job. UDF gives high priority to bury the religious politics through ideological battle. We have to fight against the fanatic outfits of both majority and minority groups,' Satheesan said in the post.

Every UDF worker should be ready for a revival of the party. There is no doubt that the party would come back stronger than before. We expect support and blessings from all for the journey ahead, Satheesan said.
