Palakkad: The father of the victim in the Vandiperiyar rape-murder case urged that Adv. Rajesh M. Menon, who appeared for the Attapadi Madhu and Walayar cases, be made the special public prosecutor in this case as well.
Since the government has decided to file an appeal, the family wrote to the Chief Minister requesting that a person they trust be appointed as the public prosecutor.
The victim's father said that he made this demand after hearing of the advocate’s prowess in the Attapadi case. He is currently undergoing treatment after a relative of the accused stabbed him. He will reportedly be meeting the DGP in person after being discharged.
Meanwhile, Adv Rajesh said that the matter was discussed with him and that he is ready to appear in the case if given permission.
