
Valanchery, Malappuram: The authorities have identified the woman whose body was found in a water tank of an uninhabited house in Athipatta on Sunday morning.
According to police, the woman has been identified as Fathima, a resident of the same locality, and was working as a domestic help at a nearby residence.
Preliminary investigations suggest the possibility of suicide, although authorities have not yet reached a definitive conclusion.
The police stated that the exact cause of death will be determined only after the postmortem examination. Following the inquest proceedings, Fathima’s body is expected to be shifted to Manjeri Medical College Hospital.
The body was found inside a water tank at a residence on Sunday. The house, currently unoccupied, belongs to a family living abroad. A security guard had been assigned to oversee the property.
The woman’s body was found in the tank where turtles are kept. A worker, who arrived on Sunday morning to clean the the tank and feed the turtles made the discovery. When the worker returned on Sunday morning, he noticed the body and immediately alerted the police.
