Police said Vrinda and a man from Ernakulam had taken a room at the hotel on August 20.

Kollam, Kerala: A 27-year-old woman from Alappuzha district was found dead after allegedly jumping from the upper floor of a private hotel here on Saturday evening, police said.
The deceased was identified as Vrinda, hailing from Kanichukulangara Junction in Kanjikuzhi panchayat.
According to Kollam East police, the incident happened around 6 pm when Vrinda allegedly jumped from the upper floor of the hotel. She died instantly after falling to the ground.
Police said Vrinda and a man from Ernakulam had taken a room at the hotel on August 20. A suicide note was also recovered from the room where they had been staying.
The man is currently under police watch. Police said the two had reportedly been living together for some time. An investigation is underway, with police examining CCTV footage from the hotel and other evidence.
The woman's body has been kept at the district hospital mortuary. It will be handed over to her relatives on Sunday after post-mortem procedures.
