Uma Thomas suffered serious injuries after falling from a 15-foot-high platform at Kaloor International Stadium during a mega Bharatanatyam event aimed at setting a Guinness World Record. The accident occurred on Sunday evening around 6.30 pm, just before the event began. After sitting on the stage, Uma Thomas lost her balance while walking towards a known person, and when she grabbed the ribbon of the temporary railing at the edge, she fell and struck her head on a concrete slab. She was immediately rushed to Pallarivattom Renai Medicity Hospital by ambulance.

The accident has raised major safety concerns, particularly regarding the adequacy of safety measures at public events and the structural integrity of temporary setups.
