Kozhikode: A TTE was brutally beaten up by a passenger for enquiring about his train ticket. TTE Vikram Kumar Meena, a Rajasthan native, was assaulted by a person inside the reservation coach of the Maveli Express going from Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday night.
The railway police have arrested S Stalin, a Thiruvananthapuram native, for attacking the TTE.
According to reports, the TTE was attacked by Stalin for asking him to move to the general coach as he was travelling without a reserved ticket. The TTE said that the accused caused a ruckus since the time he boarded the train from Kozhikode. Although he was asked to move to general coach, he didn't. Later, the enraged passenger attacked the TTE.
In the complaint filed by the TTE, he said that the passenger hit him several times on the face and nose. Pictures of TTE with a bleeding nose after being beaten have also surfaced in the media. Kozhikode railway police were informed after the incident. The accused was then taken into custody by the railway police at Tirur. The injured TTE was first admitted to the hospital in Shoranur and later shifted to Palakkad Railway Hospital.
