The branches were removed from the power lines and the tracks were cleared

Cheruthuruthy: Tree branches fell on a moving train at Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur. No one was injured in the incident. The accident occurred around 10 am on Sunday morning. The train was stopped for about an hour.
The branches fell on the Jamnagar–Tirunelveli Express train. The incident happened when the train reached Cheruthuruthy railway station. Since last night, heavy rains have been lashing across Thrissur district. It was raining heavily at the time of the incident. The branches of the tree fell on the second-class compartment of the train.
The loco pilot immediately stopped the train to prevent further danger. According to preliminary reports, the train did not suffer any damage. The passengers are also safe. The train had to be halted for an hour to cut and remove the tree branches. After the branches were removed from the power lines and the tracks were cleared, the train resumed journey around 11 am.
