Wayanad: A three-year-old boy, Libhijit, the son of Vinod from Ambalamood Colony, Kaniyambetta here, succumbed to severe fever. The child had been suffering from high fever and diarrhoea for several days. He is the second child in the district to lose their life due to fever within a week.
The young boy's condition deteriorated on Friday morning, leading to his admission to the hospital. The health department reports that the child had already passed away by the time he reached the hospital.

As a standard procedure, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to officially confirm the cause of death. The authorities are awaiting the report for further clarification.
In the meantime, the deceased child's brother sought medical treatment at Kalpetta General Hospital, presenting symptoms of fever. The hospital officials have reassured that the fever is not of a serious nature.
