Kasaragod: With the advent of the monsoon season in the state, the number of fever-related deaths remains high. Aswathy (28), wife of Sreejith from Chemmanad, has become the latest casualty of fever-related fatalities in the past month.
Aswathy, a TTC student, has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru. She was initially admitted to a hospital in Kasaragod on Monday after showing fever-related symptoms. However, her condition worsened on Tuesday, forcing the family to shift her to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Meanwhile, several cases of fever, including dengue and rat fever, were reported in Kasaragod district. A total of 619 persons have sought treatment at hospitals in the district.
