Thiruvananthapuram: A 36-year-old female Civil Excise Officer lost her life in a road accident on Sunday night. Shanida SN, a resident of Thirumala Vettamukku Laxmi Nagar, was on her way to investigate a confidential complaint when the incident occurred.

The accident took place around 11 pm on Pattoor General Hospital Road. Shanida, who was riding a two-wheeler, reportedly lost control of her vehicle after it hit the divider. She fell to the ground, and a passing car hit her. Despite being rushed to the Medical College for treatment, she could not be saved.

Shanida worked at the Excise Thiruvananthapuram Range Office and, at the time of her death, had been investigating confidential complaints from the Medical Colleges in the Vanchiyoor area.

She is survived by husband Naseer, and two children, Muhammad Fagad and Faiga Fatima.
