Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has ordered a CBI investigation into the death of Disha Salian, former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and directed the agency to examine the circumstances surrounding the case.

A division bench of Justice Sarang Kotwal and Justice Ranjitsinha Bhonsale also directed the CBI to record the statement of Salian's father, Satish Salian, in connection with the case.

The court ordered the CBI to register an FIR and appoint a senior and experienced officer to conduct the investigation. The Malvani Police Station has also been directed to hand over all records related to the case to the CBI.

The High Court made it clear that no individual should be treated or named as an accused unless the investigating officer finds sufficient material against that person.

Advocate Nilesh Ojha, who represented Salian's father Satish Salian, said the court had directed that action be taken against anyone against whom evidence emerges during the investigation.

The lawyer said the court had also clarified that if the CBI submits a negative report, the family would have the right to raise objections and file a protest petition.

“I thank the court,” Ojha said while speaking about the order.

The central agency has been directed to appoint a senior and experienced officer to investigate the circumstances surrounding Salian's death.

The CBI probe will now examine the case and take further action based on the evidence that emerges during the investigation.

Salian died after falling from the 14th floor of a high-rise in suburban Malad. Her death had been described as mysterious, with questions subsequently raised over the circumstances surrounding it.
