Thiruvananthapuram: Flight operations at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport were disrupted on Friday as IndiGo’s ongoing nationwide operational crisis continued to impact Kerala’s airports. According to the airport PRO, IndiGo cancelled two scheduled flights and delayed four others, causing congestion and delays for passengers.
Adding to the disruptions, a Doha–Kochi Air India Express flight was also diverted to Thiruvananthapuram.
Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) also issued a passenger advisory on Thursday, warning of nationwide operational constraints impacting several domestic airlines, with IndiGo being the most affected.
The airline has been struggling with a surge in cancellations, 170 to 200 flights per day, leading to frustration among passengers stranded across multiple airports without timely updates or alternative arrangements.
On Thursday, IndiGo issued a “heartfelt apology” to customers and industry partners, stating it is working to stabilise operations “at the earliest.” The carrier informed the DGCA that it expects full operational normalcy only by February 10, 2026, and has sought temporary relaxations in flight-duty regulations. The same day, IndiGo cancelled over 550 flights, severely impacting travel plans nationwide.
As the disruptions continue, airports are advising passengers to check flight status in advance and plan extra time for travel. Further updates are expected as IndiGo works toward restoring its schedule.
