Varkala: A thief broke into a temple and looted hundi (cash collection box) money amounting to Rs 10,000.
The incident occurred at Thripporittakavu Temple in Panayara on Friday night. However, the incident was brought to the attention of police by temple administrators on Saturday morning.
The thief entered the inner sanctum of the temple by removing the roof tiles. The CCTV footage from the temple premises shows the thief entering the temple with blunt instruments and stealing money from the hundi.
The thief also burst open five other hundies inside the temple. The temple official informed that around Rs 10,000 was stolen from the temple.
