Kottayam: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor MP’s meeting in Erattupetta has stoked a controversy within the Youth Congress in the state.

Reportedly, a faction within the wing has demanded action against state vice president KS Sabarinadhan for his contentious remarks against DCC president Nattakam Suresh and lodged a complaint with state president Shafi Parambil.

Earlier, Suresh had said that Youth Congress programmes should be conducted only after seeking the permission of the party.

In response, Sabarinadhan asserted that Youth Congress has the freedom to organise programmes and need to inform the DCC leadership only after taking decisions.

Meanwhile, Suresh refused to comment on the issue and district president Chintu Kuriyan said he was unaware of the complaint.
