Panaji: Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a severe cardiac arrest. According to reports, the acclaimed star was found unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. Emergency medical assistance was immediately sought as those close to him realised he had suffered a critical medical emergency.
Emergency Medical Intervention and Resuscitation Efforts
Upon being rushed to Manipal Hospital, medical professionals mounted an intensive effort to save the veteran actor's life. According to Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, Patekar was pronounced dead at 5:20 AM. Medical teams fought desperately to restore his pulse, administering continuous cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for 45 minutes. Despite the extensive and prolonged resuscitation attempts by the hospital staff, he could not be revived.

Medico-Legal Procedures and Post-Mortem Examination
Following his passing, hospital authorities and local officials initiated standard protocol given the sudden nature of the cardiac event. Dr Shekhar Salkar confirmed to ANI that a medico-legal case (MLC) has been officially registered. As part of the standard investigative procedure under the circumstances, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the precise clinical factors surrounding the cardiac arrest. Authorities are expected to release further details once the procedural formalities are concluded.
