A teacher at CVKM School in Kizhakkekallada, Kollam, allegedly struck a Plus One student with a book, leaving her hospitalised. Police have launched an investigation.

Kallada (Kollam): A teacher has been accused of hitting a Plus One student on the head with a book while she was resting at her desk.
The girl, a native of Kizhakkekallada, later sought treatment at Kundara Taluk Hospital after experiencing fever and numbness on one side of her head.
According to her parents, the incident took place on Friday afternoon at CVKM School in Kizhakkekallada. They said the student had spent the night caring for her mother, who is seriously ill with heart disease, and had fallen asleep after lunch. The teacher allegedly hit her on the head with a heavy book without attempting to wake her.
Although she felt unwell, the student did not inform her family immediately. By Sunday evening, she developed a fever and body pain, prompting her to tell relatives.
A doctor who examined her advised four days of complete rest, warning there could be internal bleeding. She was also instructed to undergo a scan if she began vomiting.
Kizhakkekallada police visited the student’s home, took her statement and opened an investigation. Hospital authorities have also lodged a complaint with the police.
