Thrissur: Union Minister and Thrissur MP Suresh Gopi on Thursday announced financial assistance of ₹1 lakh each to the families of those who died in the accident at a fireworks manufacturing unit in Mundathikode, Thrissur. The post by Lakshmi Suresh Gopi MP’s Initiative, shared by the actor-turned BJP leader, referred to the impact of the accident at the fireworks manufacturing unit in Mundathikode as beyond words.
"In the land of Thrissur, where festivals and their traditions are held close to the heart, it is deeply painful that such a disaster has befallen those who dedicated their lives to this art. At a time like this, it is essential to uphold our social responsibility towards those who preserve our cultural heritage, which is far more than mere celebration.
We firmly believe that the care and support of well-wishers who love Thrissur will stand by these families in times of such crisis," the post read.
‘Small gesture’ to support families
"This assistance cannot replace the loved ones who were lost, but we pray that this small gesture offers some relief to those shattered lives and supports the affected families," it added.
