Mannarkad (Palakkad): A seven-year-old boy was rescued on Thursday after falling asleep in a locked car outside a private hospital in Mannarkkad. The incident occurred around 5:15 pm.

The boy’s parents, from Pullissery in Mannarkkad, went to the hospital for a doctor's appointment. They left the boy in the car with the doors unlocked but forgot to take the key with them. When they returned, they found that the boy had fallen asleep inside and the doors were locked. Despite their efforts to wake him by knocking on the window, the child did not stir.

As the parents grew increasingly anxious, nearby locals rushed to help. They shook the car and tried various methods to wake the boy without success. Eventually, they contacted the fire force for assistance. The help of workers who could open the car door was also sought.

Two private company workers in Kunthipuzha, Rafeeq and Ramanathan (electrician), arrived with tools and managed to unlock the car door. Firefighters, ambulance drivers, civil defence members, and local auto rickshaw drivers also came to support the rescue effort.
