Wayanad: Vatican has rejected the second appeal that sister Lucy Kalappura filed against her ouster from Franciscan Clarist Congregation. Sister Lucy had demanded that her version should be heard and the decision to dismiss her from the congregation should be revoked. Sister Lucy has received the order dismissing her appeal.
The problems between FCC and sister Lucy developed soon after she took part in the protest against Bishop Franco Mulakkal. She has been facing problems in the convent ever since she took part in the protest held by nuns at Ernakulam. Later, she was throwm out of the congregation citing various reasons. It was against this that the sister appealed against the first time.
Meanwhile, a petition is still pending at Mananthavady Munsif court that demands that sister Lucy Kalappura should not be ousted from the convent where she is staying. Hence it is assumed that sister will not have to move out of the convent.
