Chalakudy: Sindhu, the youngest daughter of Malayalam poet Vayalar Ramavarma, passed away here on Sunday. She was 53.
Sindhu was fighting cancer for a very long time and was under treatment. When a Covid test was conducted after death, she was positive.
She is survived by husband Krishnakumar, residing at Palace Road in Chalakudy, and daughter Meenakshi (Research scholar).
Ramavarma married Puthenkovilakathu Chandramathi Thamburatti in 1951 but the couple were issueless. He then married Bharathi Thamburatti, the younger sister of Chandramathi Thamburatti, and the couple had a son, Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma, and three daughters, Indulekha, Yamuna and Sindhu.
