Kozhikode: Regular passengers have expressed discontent over the revised timetable for the Shoranur-Kannur Express Special, set to come into effect from November 1. While the train brings some relief to commuters during the busy morning and evening hours between Kannur and Shoranur, the Passengers’ Forum has raised concerns that the changes may disrupt the routine travel of regular commuters between Shoranur and Kozhikode.
Railway authorities recently issued an order extending the service of the Shoranur-Kannur Express Special and Kannur-Shoranur Express Special by another two months, which was initially planned to continue only until October 31. These trains, previously limited to operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, will now run daily, providing added frequency to the route. However, this extension comes with a modified timetable for the Shoranur-Kannur Express (Train No. 06031), leading to mixed reactions from passengers.
