Kannur: A new train service announced by the Railways between Shoranur and Kannur will commence on Tuesday (July 2) with an aim to reduce traffic congestion.
The Shoranur-Kannur Unreserved Special Express (06031) will depart from Shoranur at 3:40 pm, stopping at 11 stations along its route. It is scheduled to reach Kozhikode at 5:30 pm and Kannur at 7:40 pm. This service will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Kannur-Shoranur train (06032), on the other hand, will run on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It will leave Kannur at 8:10 am and arrive in Shoranur at 12:30 pm. The train will consist of 10 general coaches.
The Malabar Railway Passengers Coordination Committee (NMRPC) is preparing to welcome the new train service to Kannur on Tuesday evening.
