Thiruvananthapuram: BJP senior leader Sobha Surendran has challenged Opposition Leader VD Satheesan to win an additional seat for Congress in the Palakkad municipality in the upcoming local body elections. She also said that the BJP would win two corporations in the election scheduled for next year. “My next mission is the upcoming local body elections, and the BJP will win Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram corporations next year,” she said.
“The upcoming local body elections will see ordinary workers, who usually shout slogans, becoming panchayat presidents, municipal chairpersons and councilors. I am ready to bet on the outcome of the Palakkad municipal election. Congress will not be able to increase their numbers next time,” Sobha said.
“I have done all the tasks entrusted to me by the state leadership with utmost sincerity. It is the state and central leadership that decides what tasks should be assigned to me. I am confident that I always meet their expectations regarding the jobs they entrust to me.”
“The state president has already given a clear answer to the issues raised by Palakkad municipal chairperson Prameela Devi. What more should I add to what has already been said by the state president?” she asked. Sobha evaded questions about a potential leadership change, saying that senior leader Kummanam Rajasekharan has provided clear answers to such questions and that she is not bigger than Kummanam.
