Bengaluru: Uncertainty looms over  the search for Arjun, the Malayali lorry driver from Kozhikode, who went missing in a landslide in Shiroor, Uttara Kannada. The Navy is yet to arrive for the mission it said would begin in the morning. It is also alleged that the Navy has not yet received permission from the district administration to enter the river.

It was said that the search for Arjun would begin on Tuesday under the supervision of the Navy. It was decided to conduct a radar inspection of the river. The mission, which was supposed to start on Tuesday morning, has not yet started.

“All things are ready. The district administration is not ready to give permission to the Navy. If they get permission, they will come. There is no cooperation at the official level. The weather is also good,” Arjun’s lorry owner Manaf said. He also pointed out that the High Court has ordered the search to continue.

On Monday, the Navy found that the flow in the river was less. Based on this, it was decided to conduct sonar inspection. Steps will be taken to locate the lorry. After that, there were reports that the inspection will be done at the bottom of the river.

Earlier, Arjun's wife Krishnapriya and sister Anju had responded that they hope to find Arjun. It is expected that the district administration will do the necessary things. There is less flow in the river now. Water level has also decreased. They added that it is hoped that the search will be conducted in this favorable weather.
