Thiruvananthapuram: The Honda 'Dio' model scooter, allegedly used by AKG Centre attack accused Jithin V Kulathoor, was found in Kadinamkulam on Friday. The scooter is a piece of crucial evidence in the case. Earlier, a local court here had dismissed his bail plea after the prosecution argued that granting bail could enable him to influence witnesses and destroy evidence.
The police have recovered the shoes used by the accused during the attack. Jithin told police that he discarded the T-shirt he wore during the attack in a lake, sources in the police had said.
The state government came under immense pressure for failing to nab the culprit behind hurling an explosive at AKG Centre, the Kerala headquarters of CPM, on June 30, around 11.30 pm. However, the crime branch probing the case zeroed upon Jithin, a Youth Congress worker, and arrested him last week.
