Thiruvananthapuram:  The master plan prepared to reform the state school curriculum includes recommendations to evaluate the quality and introduce grading for schools to improve the education system. 

Ranking and external grading similar to the NAAC accreditation of colleges will be launched for the schools. The new curriculum accords more weightage to digital learning and skill development. The workshop to prepare a detailed plan commenced in Thiruvananthapuram. 

The recommended curriculum and new textbooks will be set in motion from the academic year beginning in 2024. The new reforms were introduced in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020. The education system following in the Scandinavian countries will be adopted in a way favourable to Kerala. 

The curriculum and study materials were not undergone a comprehensive reformation since 2013. 

Digital reformation

A blended learning method will be introduced by incorporating both online and regular classes. 

A repository of study materials to launch instead of printed textbooks. 

The facilities such as audiobooks, braille textbooks, interactive sessions, internet-based resources, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and automated assessment. 

Separate Bodhana software for teachers and students. 

Skill development

Skill sets to improve the productivity of the nation will be inculcated in the students. 

Entrepreneurship will be included as a chapter in the syllabus. 

Guidelines will be provided by the schools to introduce students to the various options regarding higher studies and career opportunities.
