
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan instructed the Advocate General to take further action against the trial court verdict acquitting the accused in the Kasaragod Riyas Maulavi murder case. In a meeting with the Advocate General, the Chief minister instructed to file an appeal as soon as possible, before the summer recess of the court.
Riyas Maulavi, native of Kasargod and a teacher in Choori Madrasa, was stabbed to death on March 20, 2017. All the three accused were acquitted by the District Principal Sessions Court in Kasaragod following lapses by the investigation team in proving the crime.
