Pattambi: As part of the 'Street Tourism' programme, registrations are being done in the State under the aegis of the District Responsible Tourism (RT) Mission. A 'Village Life Experience Package' has been prepared tapping the rural tourism potential of Thrithala and Pattithara Panchayat in Palakkad.
The package is designed to give tourists a proper experience of traditional art and crafts such as Kalaripayattu, pottery making, basket making, coconut tree climbing, papad making and palm winemaking.
It aims at providing a perfect spot for tourists to explore as well as ensuring that it serves as a source of income for the local residents.
As part of the project, a tourism development committee and tourism resource directory were formed in the Thrithala and Pattithara Panchayats of the district.
Under the Responsible Tourism Mission, around 250 units of traditional workers, artists, farmers etc have been registered in these panchayats.
Registrations are being completed for many such similar packages. The Responsible Tourism Mission will officially notify all these packages after being published at https://www.keralatourism.org/responsible-tourism. Tourists can book packages through this website.
