Kottayam: The Kerala Congress Parliamentary Party decides that there should be no compromise on the Rajya Sabha seat issue. After taking a similar decision in the steering committee meeting, the forum consisting of the chairman, MP and MLAs, have reiterated the party's stand staking a claim for the seat.

The party will continue with the stand taken earlier that it should not give up the claim. However, as an ally of LDF, bilateral talks will still have space. CPM has called a meeting of parties on this issue. The party will announce its position there. Leaders have clarified that no such discussions have been held even though many rumours are being circulated on other posts offered to Jose K Mani.

Left Front candidates can win two of the three vacant seats. Various parties of LDF have made claims on this. General Secretary Stephen George said that the party's opinion has been conveyed to LDF leadership. He said that there is time till June 13th and the front will take a decision by then.
